    Route learning

I’m looking forward to it but just struggled through the application process to find more off the actual training and shifts etc. How often do you do nightshifts? I currently do them every 3 sets of shifts so not a hassle if it’s often but just so I know.

Thanks for the information. Much appreciated. How many hours of the 263 are night hours? You mentioned this had to be over a minimum of 70 days, I thought it took around 9 months once our training to get your licence? This is more about the pay aspect, do you achieve your wage rise as a newly...

I’m starting with Scotrail as a trainee train driver on 26th August and looking for some advice: - How hard and intense is it to learn your routes and what’s the difficulties in doing so? - How many hours driving do you have to do before you achieve your licence to drive a train solo? - I’m...

    Scotrail shift system.

Great information. Do you know what routes drivers from Motherwell do and what class trains are used? Also after your classroom based learning when you go your depot and before you achieve your licence do you get paid the extra for Sunday’s?

    Scotrail shift system.

I start on 26th August and this is the first post I’ve seen about shift patterns etc. Could someone confirm if you work 7 days in a row or am I looking at the above shift pattern wrong? When you say sundays are ‘overtime’ shifts but you are rostered for them anyway, what is the rate of pay I.e...

Harder than I thought in relation to the computer tests however I graded A for them all so must be a lot of room for error. I went out of the lines on the hand to eye coordination test loads. The interview is easier than the DMI.

Had my MMI today and just found out that I passed it and my next stage is the medical. Can anyone confirm that the medical is the last stage and as I’ve passed my MMI I should be expecting a conditional officer in the coming days? For those who have passed how long did it take after finding out...

For anyone that’s done the MMI already. Has anyone answered all the questions relating all to their current job? Do they prefer a mix of work and non-work examples? Or does it not matter as long as the answers are relevant?

Well done boxcar! Can you remember what questions where asked in the MMI? Also do they give you a sheet of paper to write your examples down first then take you into a room to discuss them? Any tips or advice as I have mine next week. Thanks

    Scotrail Trainee Drivers

Just got an email from scotrail saying that I have been successfully at the interview stage and will be progressing to the second stage of driver assessment. Says I will be sent and invite via email to attend the assessment centre in due course. I take it this is different than what others heard...

I had my interview on 21/3 and emailed them today as I still haven’t heard back. The reply from them is “we are still collating the results from the large number of interviews and hope to inform candidates in the next few weeks”.

Congrats on getting through everything. I’ve recently been given my date for the DMI and have read over pretty much everything on this forum. Any chance you could forward me over the stuff you’ve got for the DMI?
