  • It's an open forum, so i'll say what I like. You've been on here for quite a while, and you've pretty much made it plain you're here to " get on " in the industry. Looking at your posts, that seems to be at any cost. That isn't conducive to a harmonious workplace. In my opinion, anyway. Yes, I work on the P-Way. I sincerely hope you don't.
Many thanks, my heart is in it. All I want too do since I decided to leave my job was to be a driver. I really want this job theres no doubt about it, I guess my previous message was not written the way as I was meaning to put it across. Its the negative comments I have come across on this forum that puts me of as I have been told if I was a MDD no company would take me on as they want people fresh of the street. I want to learn the traction at my depot. Work the best I can and shine and when a opportunity arises either within this TOC or any other toc/foc I want to progress my career onto the mainline. As I have said there are mixed reviews on hear.
But one big piece of advise I will give you is don't continue your DD application half heartedly. Either commit to it and do the best job you can do to make yourself a good candidate for mainline trainee or don't bother with the application and just continue applying for trainee mainline positions. (Part 2)
It totally depends what TOC you have applied for as to what duties they will expect you to carry out as a Depot Driver. Firstly you have not even passed your assessments yet so I would get through those first. If you are in limbo now about whether to accept the job or not then clearly your heart isn't really in it so I would question why you are even applying for the post. There are thousands and thousands of people who apply for trainee mainline positions of the street and only a very small fraction get them. There are a lot of trainee drivers who are promoted internally. Lots of those are Depot Drivers (on TOCs that have DD's) who have done a good job on the depot and have clean records. It's entirely up to you whether you want to carry on applying for trainee mainline positions instead of going for this role but you will be in competition with the thousands of others. (Part 1)
