Back in 2011 though they rigged up a temporary compressor in 221144 (was in the main part of passenger saioon), when it was first made a two car unit so it could move under its own power around Central Rivers for a charity event.

    Kite goes Exploring, Trip Reports

Don't go on here very often anymore but I did enjoy reading those trip reports.

Why people DO travel by train...

In the main I love catching the train and I would love to catch the train more but as others have pointed out the cost is prohibitive at times. I drive to work (60 miles round trip each day) and it used to cost me roughly £10 a day in fuel. I have a Devon and Cornwall railcard and when I was on...

    State of GWR’s IETs

I was wondering if anyone was going to mention that! GWR seem to be getting a lot of stick for quite frankly is none of their doing unless I am wrong. Did the Government not dictate the specs (yes the seats included) of the trains? Hitachi maintain them? GWR just run them? They can only run what...

My 3 day Freedom of the south West Rover bash.

The 0850 off PNZ might well be a valid train. If it's the first train, an off peak day return is valid on then the rover is valid.

    Cornwall Metro funding approved

The rail prices in Cornwall (and Devon) are actually pretty good I feel. Especially if you have a Devon and Cornwall Railcard which anyone who lives there is entitled too. I go to work on the train if I am working a late shift and it only costs me £5.80 return from Plymouth to Torre (74 miles...

The M49 was built to link the M5 to the M4 further south. Mid 90s. You definitely need one of those mounts for your phone. Will help with your navigation.

    RealTimeTrains website

I echo what some have said on here. I think RTT is fantastic and the ads don’t bother me in the slightest. I haven’t noticed anything different in my experience since the changes. I use it to plan my (currently rare days out). Noticed that GWR allocations had been added when updating rail...

    Juliano's World Frenzy/Tech's Trip Reports

Does your phone not store the card details? Not stored on retailers website then. Saved me on a couple of occasions my phone knowing. Very useful when buying limited release stuff and there is a queue to get it. Saves valuable seconds as some sites have a thing where it is in your basket but...
