    University Degree Work

I think the hugest problem is there aren't barriers at every station on the Underground, mainly due to the structure of some stations. There are oyster validators at every station, but still, this is a problem because of fare evasion. Also, the lack of smartcard recognition for cards such as...

It was only eastbound trains on the underground lines which were suspended, but delays on westbound.

South West Trains 'Least popular rail company'

South West Trains definitely operate much better than Southern, and Southern even operate services all the way down to Southampton. The condition of the trains combined with the frequency of the services is just much better.

Why does Southeastern manage Hastings station?

These are two very important points to consider. I save £10-£20 even with a railcard on my most common train journey by using Southern to Victoria via Eastbourne, rather than using the Southeastern service which goes to Charing Cross and avoids Eastbourne, only shaving 30-45 minutes from the...

Why does Southeastern manage Hastings station?

There's a Southern service which runs between Ashford to Brighton which sometimes stops at Ore too. To be fair, they do run more services east of Ashford in Kent. Ah yes of course, 2 per hour. Apparently, there are 2 trains per hour to Brighton, 1 to Ashford, 2 to Ore (occasionally...

Does this mean there will not be any platform staff?

Why does Southeastern manage Hastings station?

I was under the impression that operators which run the most services from a station tend to manage it. Southeastern only operates 1 service to London Charing Cross/Cannon Street per hour, meanwhile Southern operates at least 6 trains per hour. Apparently, Hastings isn't getting The Key...

    ITSO progress

Not quite sure what you mean, as Soutern operates the Ashford to Brighton srrvice and Ashford to Hastings shuttle on weekends, it's very rare Southeastern actually operates via Marshlink other than HS1, but that's technically not Marshlink. Also, Ore doesn't even have a permit to travel...

    ITSO progress

The Southern 'key' card is being implemented at all stations across the Southern network apparently, all stations will support Pay-as-You-Go transactions by Winter 2013. I have no idea how realistic this is though, the current stations which have it have been weirdly picked - some terminus...
