Redevelopment Plans for Liverpool Street - Development Policy Going Backwards

The proposed developments related to the Adanz Hotel and 50 Liverpool Street - they did not impinge upon the roof. The proposals were made by a JV with MTR as a partner. I should add that it is possible that the proposals will not be progressed post-COVID impact.

Rail renationalisation- do you support it?

    Sorry - yes my typo.

    Future Network Rail Investment

As requested: These are the source URLSs: http://orr.gov.uk/ And the Portal: http://dataportal.orr.gov.uk/ Look to the Network Monitor reports for more details. From the press: https://www.scotsman.com/news/transport/huge-difference-in-train-subsidies-across-uk-1-3378246 These extracts are...

Northern Powerhouse Rail / HS3 Timeline and Ideas

There is a bit more detail - but around timelines and sequencing of work, but not enough for any reasonable analysis. I would not take the documents as being too literate at this stage; I suspect that they are using a broad-brush approach at this stage until they have completed more thorough...

Northern Powerhouse Rail / HS3 Timeline and Ideas

That is exactly my point - as in previous comments. It is also the case the NPR will, under current proposals, be less than what was hinted at for HS3.

HS2 - good for the provinces?

It is that kind of work that would bring expenditure up to the same levels as those for London and the South East; Is it a case of not being ambitious enough in the right areas? I am going by what is being propsed by TfN for 2030 and beyond - quite different from the current situation.

Is rail REALLY that bad in the North?

If you engaged with the product of theses groups you would see that your claim is not correct.

Rail renationalisation- do you support it?

Read the article - as I said - they were selective with the data - principally by selecting a period that did not take account of recent deliveries including Thameslink, Crossrail and APT sets.

HS2 - good for the provinces?

So why not spend the money on that rather than a small town out in the sticks? If a genuine HS link was provided into Piccadilly from Liverpool rather than the 155 km/h max link proposed by TfN would the little extra journey time not be compensated for by the more beneficial connectivity and...

Rail renationalisation- do you support it?

If in doubt, look at the numbers. All the time - depending on who's the current target.

Transport for the North Strategic Transport Plan

There is a lot more to it than a five minute presentation - the points he raised are clearly addressed in the materials. Someone with his experience should also know better how to behave in public - he is still behaving like he was a CBB contestant.

Could they just drain the Manchester Ship Canal? :)

Transport for the North Strategic Transport Plan

That is covered in about three of the documents - essentially TfN what base justification on projected economic outcome. That is a hard ask.

Transport for the North Strategic Transport Plan

I think John Prescott was over reacting - as usual - he should have taken a little more time to digest the materials.

Transport for the North Strategic Transport Plan

It reminds me a bit of the old Merseyside proposals dating from the end of the 1960s to revive local rail that amounted to not much more than a felt-tip pen being dragged over a map of all the old rail lines in the region. It would seem that TfN and the parties concerned have still to get to...
