    Football

Bury 1 Padiham 2 I enjoyed my visit to Broadhurst Park, home of FC United of Manchester, used as Gigg Lane is unplayable. Bury threw the kitchen sink at Padiham, but lacked composure. I was impressed by how well the Padiham players and managers handled the raucous atmosphere and think they...

    ‘OP’ meaning

Although a more important meaning of 'OP' amongst my friends is Old Peculiar, specifically Theakstons Old Peculiar! Especially when found on cask.

    Greggs in Manchester Victoria.

Just as an update (as of 18:55 tonight) Greggs in Manchester Victoria station has reopened. From a cursory glance, there is no change to the layout.

    Rugby League

Was at Old Trafford (as a neutral) and it was a good game with a fantastic atmosphere. A very tight first half followed by Wigan dominating field position in the second half. Thoroughly enjoyed myself despite not really being a League fan.

    Football

Not had a season ticket for many years but still get to the odd game. Seems like the entire club is in a mess, but that is what not winning in 8 league games does. From the (albeit limited number of) fans I have spoken to, they don't believe a single word that comes out of the chairman's mouth...

    Theme park discussion

I do love a good theme park. I think my favourite in the UK is Thorpe Park. Went about 10 years ago and went on Swarm about 6 times in a row. However, by a large margin, my favourite is Phantasialand in Brühl just south of Cologne. Aggressive but smooth coasters with superb theming. Hoping to...

Comedic "things you would ban": minor things that irritate you

Oh I do so agree. And ashamedly for me, I don't consistently challenge them. Sometime I don't just have the energy.

Or James Rew? Might be a little early though.

    Can Everyone use Split Tickets?

I find your hypocrisy on this rather disappointing. You seem to have an issue with Trainsplit that is entirely bewildering. And use this issue as a starting point rather than construct a case from first principles. Further, I do not find that you have clearly articulated your thoughts on this...

    Russia invades Ukraine

Is anyone else thoroughly confused by all of this or is it just me?

    Cricket

And of course James Rew with another century against Lancashire. Saw him at Southport last year and was seriously impressed. Not bad for 19 years old.

    Formula 1

I note it was not a wholly successful day for McLaren!!!

Stations that fell from grace- stations still in use today that once were significantly more impressive.

It must be ever such a long time ago! (albeit I'm only 34 but I've used it for decades). There is virtually nothing at Chinley now apart from a small shelter and the bridge.

Booze delivered to your door - recommendations please?

Please may I also add Marble Arch brewery and pub to the list. 10 minutes walk from Manchester Victoria and their delivery service has never let me down.

    Great British sitcoms

For me it is Blackadder, Only Fools and Horses, Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister and Porridge. There are by far my top four, but cannot rank them within the top four.
