    ASLEF strikes 5th-8th April weekend

Same here. Our lot CA barely manage to assemble a timetable with 6 months to play with a full compliment of staff. Absolutely not happening in 9 days.

    RMT strike referendum passed

You've been told numerous times in numerous posts that this isn't the case. Yet you are still peddling this nonsense. Give it a rest. Unless you are actually Mark Harper incognito?

RMT rejects latest offer from both Network Rail and RDG (TOCs)

Absolutely this. I don't see any other public sector roles facing the attack on their T&Cs to such a degree, for a comparable pay offer.

RMT rejects latest offer from both Network Rail and RDG (TOCs)

It was put to an online straw poll to RMT branches. It was returned as a resounding no.

New offer made to RMT by Rail Delivery Group

These really do seem like a horrendous attack on the conditions of grades represented by the RMT for such a paltry payrise. It's the same amount offered to Teachers and Nurses yet they don't seem to have to been subjected to any changes to conditions.

Train drivers offered pay rise in bid to end strikes

The more I read it, the more I think this is just like the offer made to the RMT. It was designed to never be accepted

Train drivers offered pay rise in bid to end strikes

As Sundays aren't part of the working week you aren't able to take them as annual leave. That's why committed Sundays are so bloody awful

Train drivers offered pay rise in bid to end strikes

That's how it worked at a previous TOC that had committed Sundays. If it couldn't be covered , you worked. And only found out if you had it off or not the Wednesday before so you couldn't even plan anything. It really is the worst of both worlds.

Train drivers offered pay rise in bid to end strikes

If they want Sundays then they go in the working week, where the pay is pensionable, with another day off during the week. Being forced to work 6 days is unreasonable. But they don't want to pay for that.

    UK Rail Passenger Numbers Discussion

I'd say it's perfectly reasonable for a union to resist further introduction of DOO now that it's entirely possible for rail staff to be prosecuted for manslaughter in the event of a trap n drag. 40 years after introduction we're much more litigious.

    Cameras in the driving cab

...and it will have zero effect on the actual train service but you can guarantee it will be used as another measure to discipline drivers. Just like everything that ever gets installed.

    UK Rail Passenger Numbers Discussion

Same here. I work for one of the largest TOCs and we don't even have that many staff in total

    Cameras in the driving cab

Between AWS, TPWS, TPWS+, ATP and vigilance, We have plenty of systems in place that have mitigated against fatigue realted accidents which is why there haven't been any.

    Cameras in the driving cab

How many of the fatal rail accidents in the past twenty years have been down to drivers, let alone down to drivers being tired? The majority have been failings in the infrastructure side suggesting some other parties need to get their house in order before introducing another stick to beat...

    IET coupling at Swansea

A couple of points to note. You can't change the coupling point on the platform. The 10 car IET only just fits at Swansea and movement further back and you'd be starting beyond the signal. The units spilt/attach at Swansea as 9/10 sets do not fit at Carmarthen. You're limited to Platforms...
