London St Pancras International [STP] to Leicester [LEI]

Oh my lord - how does split ticketing work when you're on a different route/timetable due to strikes then?! The only relevant rule I know if is from the NR CoC:

London St Pancras International [STP] to Leicester [LEI]

Hi, I'm travelling to Leicester tomorrow (08:30 departure, any evening train back) and looking at ticket options with a 16-25 Rail Card. The first question is can you split tickets at a station that the train calls at to pick up only? The train stops at Bedford [BDM] and given there is no...

Difficulty getting through to Eurostar domestic sales

You can to buy a ticket to London International from any National Rail ticket office - is that an option for you instead?

    Lost Gold Card

Hi, Can a Gold Card received with an TfL Annual Travelcard be replaced if it is lost? If not will it mean I can't get a partial refund of the travelcard if I cease to use it? Thanks, Andrew.

National Rail Conditions of Carraige Section 19 - Split Ticketing

And a further 10 will end up not buying tickets for journeys in future when they don't have to!

Virgin's staggering SOR's and FOR's increase once again!

Yep I know quite a few companies, large and small, that have banned Anytime tickets over £100. It's getting silly. One of them it's standard practice to fly to Manchester rather than take the train now!

Can a Gold Card be used on the Gatwick Express?

Thanks - what about a Network Railcard?

Can a Gold Card be used on the Gatwick Express?

I am buying Clapham Junction to Gatwick Airport to use in conjunction with my Z12 annual season travelcard on Oyster which comes with a Gold Card. Does anyone know if I can get a Gold Card discount on this ticket? Thanks

[Gatwick] Express: You must now buy tickets before boarding.

True - but it's easier to argue (or not argue, and ignore!) on the train, than it is with a jobsworth/undertrained member of staff on the wrong side of the barriers when you have a flight to catch.... Are the barriers gating an exclusive area for the Gatwick Express, or will they have Oyster...

[Gatwick] Express: You must now buy tickets before boarding.

Hi, I hear there are ticket barriers being installed at Victoria/Gatwick for the Gatwick Express platforms... should I expect trouble when using my oyster travelcard season and Clapham Junction-Gatwick (RTE Not London) SDS ticket next month? Thanks.

    Ticket Value for Money

So I am, further so by your post! Yes, almost. No. You've just compared COST ('cheaper'), not VALUE. Like I said, asking a Reading-London commuter that's missed 2 trains, finally made it onto the 3rd train which is packed, no seat, and are squashed up against the slam doors, if their...

    Ticket Value for Money

The fact is, if you say trains being packed = value, then you could keep doubling the price until they're not packed to say they don't offer value. That point is where people cannot possibly afford to go to work, they cancel their season ticket. So therefore, fares are good value simply as...

    Ticket Value for Money

I think there's some confusion or a misunderstanding here. I'm not talking about any train on the network or trains in general!! I'm talking about this specific fare on this specific route/journey. I'm pretty sure you won't find that packed! And to be quite honest with you, pack trains...

    Ticket Value for Money

I never said it should COST less. I just think it should offer some VALUE. If a private company were to raise the price to £200 for that journey (even worse value), nobody would pay for it - but that's fine. But as a taxpayer I'm forced to subsidise the railway, so they should be forced to...

    Ticket Value for Money

I see your point, but as I need the car anyway for work... if I go by car or train on this occasion, my insurance, tax, breakdown cover etc etc stays the same. So the cost of going by car is purely the variable costs above and beyond me not using the car...
