Direct service from Warwick Parkway and Solihull to Newcastle today!

Due to the Harbury issue, XC will call additionally Warwick PW & Solihull, as Chilterns have fewer trains north of Leamington than would ideally be the case.

    rail staff in pub

When the Drugs & Alcohol policy first came out (1991?) - we were told to avoid pubs when in uniform. Given the suspicious minds of many railway managers pubs are best avoided even during un-paid meal breaks. They also dont want you bringing alcohol into the office during lunch-time shopping...

Is any TOC more hated by its customers than Southeastern?

Speaking as a victim of National Express's Bus Operation in the West Midlands - interesting to see they are held in such high regard for their rail franchise. I trust their fares have risen relentlessly as they try to extract as much money as possible with the least effort!

Glossop is one of the nicest stations; the Friends of Glossop station have opened up the waiting rooms for the first time in decades, complete with pictures of the station & trains over the years. Plus it has an ornamental lion on the roof!

Preston-London last night - delays or error?

There were problems with a roof panel on a Class 325, which caused the OLE to trip, the panel had to be removed prior to moving the train - hence the delays to trains on the Up. Down trains generally delayed due to Scottish train crews delayed on southbound services
