First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

I went on the Dartmoor Explorer a fortnight ago. Bus from Exeter was fine, but the bus up from Plymouth hadn't been loaded up with fuel so a Truronian coach was sent in its stead to meet us at Moretonhampstead, which then got as far as Yelverton where it was declared unfit to continue as the...

    GWR Pacers

RE: long legs and Pacers. I'm 6'3 and cannot physically get into the standard seats and have to lodge myself sideways. Other than the limited mobility seats, quads and flip seats, it's not great. And funnily enough the short legged brigade always try and nab the decent seats! Heightists...

    Stagecoach West/South West/South Wales - Fleet News & Discussion

Sure enough, driver I spoke to yesterday said it was news to them when returning after the weekend.

Oh look, another poorly advertised price increase. They really need to get better at giving advance notice. 5% isn't chump change really.

Trivia - the closest rail to you that you've never been a passenger on?

Okehampton and Gunnislake Branches for me. Not far away, but also not overly useful destinations for me.

Its not unusual to see an E400 MMC on the A, D and K throughout the day. I can only imagine the joy of trying to get around the top of Thornpark Rise!

    Stagecoach Repaint Updates

Devon has a veritable feast of liveries, multiple Hop varieties. All of the different P&R, Falcon, Gold and so on. (I quite like the Hop12" one personally)

I can well imagine the N57 getting decent usage. Decent nightlife to be had in Exmouth if you don't fancy being around students all the time.

If we go by stories like this from Devon Live (Yes, I know....) The data for which comes from Inrix. I can't find the all of the data in an easy read format, but Exeter was (roughly) 14th on the list for a few years. Due to this, presumably Inrix Given Exeter is the main crossroads for...

    Stagecoach West/South West/South Wales - Fleet News & Discussion

The A is always going to be a victim of its own route. Heavitree Road, Exe Bridges, Cowick Street/Lane and Alphington Road are some of the busiest/gridlocked roads in Exeter. Short of getting a bypass for the bypass, it's never going to be a reliable service whilst traffic increases. The fact...

GWR - appalling new TVM design

Also at EXD. I'm 6'3 and the reader is definitely not in the easiest place to access from on high without kneeling.

I've not used the 46 since moving to Exeter over a year ago and the reduction in service, and de-Xing. Even then in the peak it was rare to have to share a row in the peak. I'm certain the bulk of use was the midday service on the concessionary pass It was already a slow journey to/ from...

Blimey, the 12 getting a night service is something I never thought would happen. Good luck to whoever gets to clean those up!

Is it possible that some may end up on the Exmouth Town routes? They are meant to be getting larger vehicles. Admittedly anything is larger than an old Solo. Oh, and just in case people were not aware, the buses in Devon now take contactless payments.

Any news on proposals to build an alternative route between Exeter & Plymouth?

I've only been along there infrequently recently, but there has been a decent sized orange contingent out with laser levels, drones and other surveying kit on each occasion. Just as well they never handed back that overflow carpark at the Warren!
