    NIMBY Rails released today

Seems good fun so far. A great concept and only 12 quid! There's a nice blog by the developer here about how he came up with the idea and designed the game. https://carloscarrasco.com/nimby-rails-retrospective/ My first creation, the un-Beeching of the Nuneaton-Coventry line

    Class 345 progress

Great to see a 345 in the tunnels. Anyone in the know on the target date for them taking over the 360 work?

Acton Mainline & West Ealing - Sunday services started!

Thanks - any idea where the paths through Paddington -> Heathrow Junction are coming from to enable the increased frequency to Heathrow with the 345s? Is there some capacity there at the minute on the relief lines that isn't used?

Acton Mainline & West Ealing - Sunday services started!

Re the 15 min frequency for trains to Ealing Broadway, Southall and Hayes & Harlington. I take it that is possible because it is a Sunday and there are routes through? I take it a more frequent weekday TFL service won't be possible until the new crossrail platforms open under Paddington?

    TOC branding in franchise changeovers

In theory we won't have this in the future as DfT roles out the permanent brands which will stay when the TOC changes.

Friday 8am - Victoria or Northern?

Victoria line without a shadow of a doubt. Faster and roomier.

Why is the Central line so hot? Science has the answer

Are the Central line tunnels bored to a smaller diameter than the other deep tubes? The trains really do feel noticeably smaller. Or is it just the design of the stock itself?

Thanks, this makes a lot of sense now.

    Closed Thameslink station

Just discovered that the widened lines extended a few hundred metres further West under St Pancras for a proposed four track to Paddington which never happened. Can anyone explain the use of the Chalton Street Junction which connected the east running Met trains to the east running widened...

    Elizabeth Line---Abbey Wood Branch

Can anyone shed some light on why the entire route through to the west is planned for Dec 2019, a full year after Paddington Low Level to Abbey Wood opens? Assume it's to do with the tunneling works connecting the low level to the GWML?

TfL rail west poor service from minor stations

The Connect did it regularly which was always assumed to be because HAL were cannibalizing it for the Express but interesting to hear TfL are doing it to. I've been lucky so far with TfL touch wood. Silly question, but I always just assumed it was to do with the paths on the GWML being busy and...

    TfL Rail - confusing map

Anyone know if the Oyster incomplete journey charge is the standard £8.00? With no barriers for the Express at Paddington could someone get on and tap out an incomplete journey at Heathrow, getting charged the maximum fare but still costing less than an Express ticket?

    TfL Rail - confusing map

Seems to have been a shake up of the way the platforms at T2&3 are used this morning: Shuttles to T5 are now across on platform 2 - meaning the Express comes in the "wrong way" to platform 2. TfL trains to T4 running in to Platform 1 as normal. Looks like they're splitting the platforms between...

    TfL Rail - confusing map

It all sounded the same - but I wasn't really listening. The platform display was changed to "Heathrow Terminal 5" a few weeks ago IIRC - before that it used to say something along the lines of "Heathrow Connect" I think. Tube maps inside also.
