Lived in Newcastle for a few years but not a native. I understand Gateshead's protectiveness over their monuments but wish there was a common authority over the area so much would get done! In the case of the Scotswood Rail Bridge I would love it to be back in service but I'd say there is more...
Slightly off topic but I applied for the graduate scheme and haven't heard a peep. A month after application they sent me the situational awareness test then nothing. I sent an email to chase up and have received no response also.
Don't agree with calling them 'idiots'. They bought the tickets in good faith and as the country tries to pull together against an unprecedented disease I think refunding a student a fair call and if cynical a good PR win. TPE always seem very keen for your money then when it goes all Pete Tong...
Seems a bit soft not running a set just because it has graffiti on. Last summer in Spain we travelled on EMUs which had graffiti on and we got A to B. As long as it isn't offensive why can't it run until its cleaned off?

Would it be foolish to think that eventually the 800s will have seats changed within a few years? From what I read that's the only real consistent criticism of otherwise a very good train.
After the carry on with getting these initial few sets into service you'd have to think TPE are utterly sick of CAF LHCS and the problems they've had. Especially since these were supposed to be the quick solution to the overcrowding issues.
LNER on twitter asserting it was not one of their trains. With the wires wrapped around a diesel Class 180 it begs the question what did bring them down?
This is big news! I would think more 802s will be accepted in the meantime. However this is the 5a thread and so its good to see they will be operating however limited that maybe. Will the displaced 185s become doubled up on some services that's the big question of us poor passengers who suffer...
