Just noticed the qualified driver recruitment myself. Wonder how that will effect those of you in the pool. I was unfortunate not make it past the initial sift when the last trainee driver vacancy was out last year. Hopefully one will come round again next year :)
I see a theme developing here. Ex emergency services and forces personnel tend to become train drivers. I was awaiting a start date from Merseyside Police and it still hasn't come along. Im also thinking that maybe being 23 is too young to be a driver seeing as I didn't get past shortlisting...
Rejected for me too. Gutted is not the word right now.
Not to worry, I shall definitely apply again next time round. Time to dust ourselves done and be better next time :)
Good luck to all that remain.
Still no updates yet. I'm beginning to wonder whether they will be doing assessment's in early June like they advised in the advertisement.
I'd think we should hear this week or next, but who knows...
I'd like to think that we may hear something back this week especially if Arriva have plans to have people in training by August.
I know all too well these things take a long time but to have people in a position to begin training in August means that they must have dates etc already...
Hoping it's not too long. In the initial advertisement they had plans for assessment to take place in Early June, with a view to training beginning in August.
I'm hoping that the schedule is brought forward seeing as the closing date was brought forward too.
Yep the vacancy status says shortlisting. I wonder when we will know if we have been shortlisted or not.
I'd also like to have known how many applications they had as well as how many roles they have available.
It does on the main page but if you click on the vacancy it says at the bottom...
** Please note this position will now close on Thursday 28th April, so if you are interested we suggest you apply immediately.
I've downloaded the program for the group bourdon test and it seems straight forward enough. I'm OK with things that require concentration so its not much of an issue for me.
