From my experience the 63 rarely completes that journey in 37mins unless traffic is abnormally clear. It's usually at least 5-10mins late by the time it reaches the Gyle. So a 25min layover would easily turn into a 15min layover which is far more reasonable. I would prefer for the 63 to remain a...
No they'll still get half hourly calls on the Gourock - Glasgow semi-fasts. Overall the changes aren't an improvement over 2019 as Gourock and Greenock to Glasgow is still down two trains an hour and Port Glasgow is down one, but it's as best as we can get for now. It'll certainly make the train...
Good to see a direct Aberdeen-London Megabus service back. The N11 provides good connections along the M1 corridor but it's a fair bit slower as a direct London - Scotland link.
I'd agree. Would likely be a very cheap option for any business seeking to add a smoking shelter, rather than build a new structure. Just nab a couple of old bus shelters from Fife Council; they may have even been acquired for free.
Potentially yes. It would be easy for a bus stop in a car park...
It definitely doesn't seem to be in use now if it ever was a bus stop, it may well have just been a shelter that was bought and placed there, but honestly not sure.
Hi all,
Just came across this bus shelter clearly marked with Fife Council logos on Google Maps, placed in a car park at the back of the Grosvenor Casino in Dundee. Does anybody know why a Fife Council shelter has ended up in Tayside? Seems to have been there since at least 2008. I've attached...
I certainly wouldn't like to risk a connection that tight. I generally like to get to a ferry terminal 20-30 minutes before departure, with a 10 minute connection you're screwed if the bus gets held up in traffic.
I don't believe there's any rules or regulations on standing asides from whether the vehicle is rated for standing or not. I posted a thread a couple of years ago with a similar question. If the vehicle is rated for standees, then standing is allowed regardless of speed or road type. Stagecoach...
Is 10-15 minutes enough time for someone to get from the bus stop to the ferry at Troon? CalMac suggests foot passengers check in 10 minutes prior to departure at the latest, and states the terminal is a 4 minute walk from the nearest bus stop. That's cutting it very fine for those 922 services...
From how I interpret the article, potentially, but they have met with Perth & Kinross Council which might mean they've arranged subsidy for some routes. Why they haven't announced the details of this now and are deciding to keep users waiting is anybody's guess. If the exact timetables and...
McGill’s have released a strongly worded article aimed at SPT's intent to pursue franchising.

Honestly, in my opinion it's a rather embarrassing article, they don't attempt to prove how continuing with the...
Alex Hornby has partially unveiled a new refreshed livery for the west operation. Personally I think it looks really nice - don't fix what ain't broken.

It's interesting how they've prioritised routes such as the 1, 23, 27 and 35 for frequency increases and not those crying out for extra capacity such as the 3, 25 and 26, but good to see improvements to these services, especially the 36 - a 20min frequency offers far more flexibility compared to...
