My operator would be called "NorthWestern" and would operate transpennine services to places not currently served by TPE. It would have a stock of 16 DMUs, consisting of 14 class 170s and 2 class 185s.

I mean, many companies are ditching their HSTs which - being locos - have the possibility for much higher capacity than the 220/221s. They should try to buy some and sell off some of the 220/221s to increase it. The HSTs should also be used at peak times imo.
The X46 is the quickest public transport link into East Yorkshire from York, but my God it takes forever. Imo, they should bring back the rail line from York to Beverley and put 158s on it to replace this ridiculous bus route.
Most of the DMUs I've used with a top speed of 75 mph are crap for other reasons aswell (no air con, uncomfortable, old and antiquated, not enough upgrades)
