Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

I don't know the answer to your question, but I suspect you don't either. However, that answer is what should decide what level of catering is sustainable, not some straw man argument about what is provided on a completely different route.

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

This is the classic 'race to the bottom' argument. Because something is bad somewhere, no one anywhere else is entitled to anything better. A bit depressing really.:'(

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

And that is a comparison with now, which is a severe down grade on what we used to have when we had the 222s AND the HST fleet.

    Prettiest Stations in the UK

Not sure you can see the sea from the platform. Lelant, however is very picturesque.

    GWR 'Project Churchward'

Maybe, but with a bit of lateral thinking, could a plan be devised where the branches are wired first? In the west, the branch lines are all low speed routes where a simple trolley wire electrification would be sufficient, which should reduce costs significantly. Modern power technology allows...

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

The "bus culture" in your area

Culture can vary by company rather than by area. In Nottingham in the late 80s, early 90s if you were on NCT you used the bell to get the bus to stop. On Barton, however, you staggered to the front and asked the driver to stop. This was in the days when Barton used coaches as service buses so I...

    Bottesford and Aslockton platforming

Came back from Skegness to Nottingham yesterday on a 3 car ex-Southern EMR Turbostar. Between Grantham and Nottingham we were sat at the very rear of the train in the former first class area. Upon leaving Grantham, the guard announced that passengers for Bottesford and Aslockton should travel in...

St Ives Branch platform lengthening and 5 coach services

So the lengthening work is looking like a bit of a white elephant?

St Ives Branch platform lengthening and 5 coach services

After the work to lengthen the platforms at St Erth and Lelant has there been any movement on 5 coach services to St Ives this summer? If not, any news on when it is likely to happen? Rob

How many trains that can run faster than its current top speed?

A 135 speed board can be seen in this shot I took in 1990.

Autumn refresh for GWR Class 165/166 Turbos

I would imagine it means that it is not possible to be more than 100% confident. And he is correct.
