    Route learning Avanti

Roughly a month for traction yes and they give enough time to learn the route comprehensively. Route learning is done in stages. Different depots will vary how they do it, but at Euston, it is done as Wembley depot first, then Euston to Rugby, then Rugby to Wolves. That's your core route.

    Route learning Avanti

As a trainee, you do your 225 hours handling but don't sign anything in terms of routes. Once qualified, you then route learn Euston to Wolves. This is split up as initially learning Wembley depot, then progressing onto learning Euston to Rugby via Weedon and Northampton. After that, it's Rugby...

LNER - Apprentice Train Driver - Kings Cross (14/02/23)

The CBI and MMI are different tests. So you can do both within 6 month period. The 6 month waiting period is only to redo the same tests. 1693546273 Avanti don't do MMI, they do CBI. So the standards for LNERs MMI have no bearing on Avanti's standards. If it is only the MMI you need to do, then...

Comfortable seat, ergonomically designed, good sighting, doesn't feel cramped, AC / heating works brilliantly, controls are comfortable to use, accelerates well, brakes amazingly, tilt is a novelty which does wear off after a bit but still a nice touch, only come as a 9 and 11 car so no faffing...

    Railway Industrial Disputes Mk2

False. Nursing degree is a "practical" degree and hence no tuition fee paid for by the student. The course is free to study in UK.

    Railway Industrial Disputes Mk2

No idea. This Jayah person seems to think requiring a medicine degree to be a medical doctor is another barrier for entry, just like there's barriers for entry into becoming a train driver. Think they want everything handed to them without having to prove themselves. Maybe Aslef should become...

    Railway Industrial Disputes Mk2

Why are you comparing a nursing degree to medicine? Also just because you have a degree, doesn't mean you just stay stagnant in your learning. I don't think you quite understand how high a position a nurse can actually achieve with further learning.

    Railway Industrial Disputes Mk2

What are those barriers to entry in the railway you speak of? Psychometric assessments?

    Railway Industrial Disputes Mk2

To get into the medical doctor grade, you need to be a medical doctor. To be a medical doctor, you need to have done Medicine as your degree...

    Greater anglia - qualified

Can somebody clarify for me please. For Liverpool St, there's a West Anglia depot and an Anglia depot? On the website they've listed Liverpool St under East Anglia link, but put Anglia in brackets, even though there's a separate Anglia vacancy link...

Is train driving considered a skilled or semi skilled profession?

Nurses are viewed as a Healthcare Professional (HCP) just as a practitioner, speech therapist, physician associate, pharmacist etc. Nurse and Doctor are 2 different professions, but both professionals.
