Enjoyed reading your report. I start mine tomorrow, a 7 day one. Its for my 70th birthday which was yesterday I hope I survive. I haven`t done one before.
I have decided on most of my journeys and had a lot of assistance from a Northern booking clerk who made 10 reservations for me. I live in...
My wife is travelling from Lancashire to Eastbourne. One of her tickets says valid via any permitted route, Euxton to Eastbourne. There isnt a Maltese Cross on the ticket as I recall there usually is. There is a circular mark adjacent to the word Outword on the ticket.
Has the Maltese cross...
Northern have recently installed a TVM at Euxton. At present it does not show railcard fares or show P2P. I have sent them an email querying this.
Is it usual practice for a TVM not to be fully programmed initially? Penalty fare notices are up.
Very interesting, thanks. Look forward to further reports especially on Poland as me and the Mrs are off there in Sept and getting an 8 day interrail. Our first one.
Caught the 10-05 on Thursday from Manchester. I thought that it may have been quite busy as it was the first one on the day to allow passes. However only 3 were on when we left. Picked up similar on the stop near the M62. Surely disappointing for the company.
I was on both of the trains that RJ21 mentions. I feel I was more fortunate than most as I was able to catch my last train to Euxton with 5 mins to spare.
The Virgin train was my last train on my 4 day North Country Rover. I had arrived in Carlisle and thought of going for a pint and a meal...
I was issued with a Derbyshire Wayfarer at Chorley last week.
Unsure if EMT allow the wayfarers to be combined. I am currently awaiting a further response from them having advised them of the above condition. Their initial comment was that they were not allowed unless the train stopped there...
Early train from Chorley and then Northern`s 07-49 Pacer to Sheffield from Manchester and an EMT to Derby. Similar on the way back. So yes used a stopper. I was thinking of asking a conductor on a FTE or EMT if they would allow but the Northern option was ok.
I did email the above some days...
I bought this along with the Manchester one on Saturday and had a good day out.
Regarding the ticket extension to Nottingham I assume from what is said that I could purchase and use it from Derby. I thought it may have only been valid from Nottingham to commence the trip.
In any event I did go...
Have booked a day to Nottingham on Friday and included Plusbus. Not sure if this extends to cover the whole area of NET. What I may do is visit Toton sheds. Can anyone give me any idea as to directions from the tram stop and how far it is roughly.
Thanks
