Moorgates shut on quite a few weekends and weekends seem to be when staff shortages are at the peak.
This is summer leave time and a lot of people want weekends off.
As alluded to above route knowledge has changed significantly so one depots spare men can't cover other routes or traction...
14 weeks in total with weeks given to front end turns. Then traction which is usually 2-3 weeks depending on what traction is required. Then other courses, Low rail adhesion is a half day and if you've applied for Hornsey NCL is another week.
After working for the London ambulance service previously, the traffic one is a great point.
Also now its less of a concern people will start ringing ambulances again and won't be so concerned about going to hospital as the fear factor seems to be dying down a bit.
I mean I've seen posters absoloutely everywhere for the closure.
Even users of the smaller stations are usually travelling to the larger hubs.
Can't see many people going from Meldreth to Foxton.
Annual leave is rostered mainly to be at certain times a year. But it's fairly easy to swap with other drivers. On the plus side your always guaranteed your time off but not necessarily when you want it.
Shifts are a bit more over the place but it's not really that different from NHS shifts...
