Why is my train not moving?

If you really want to reproduce FGW working, you should use BRR to substitute a 153 or a Pacer :p Simon (who still gets caught out by the DRA even though he wrote the d**n plugin )

FGW Improvements - the plot thickens

I had an Arriva-liveried 150/2 from Swindon to Cheltenham on March 20th and it certainly had 3+2 for midgetsTM seating. Nowhere near as nice as the Wessex refurbished 150/2s that used to run this service before FGW (though better than the recent Pacers) and in a fairly filthy state. Ran well...

Newbie: How Do i Tilt Trains? :S

I've just had a look at the processed route file that BRR writes if you select "Tilting train" and it doesn't seem to be modifying the gauge. So, unless BRR is doing something different to simulate tilt (which from your experience it doesn't seem to be) it looks like you'll have to edit the...

Newbie: How Do i Tilt Trains? :S

BVE doesn't really do tilting trains, but you can make a train tilt more than usual on curves by reducing the gauge of the route. That's what BRR does if you tick the "Tilting train" box in its "Starting options" dialog. The trouble is that this will make the train tilt more on all curves...

How to run BVE4 under Windows Vista x86 and x64 and Windows 7

 It's unlikely that support for a minority interest like BVE is going to be a priority for nVidia, but as far as I can make out from comments on the Web, legacy support for dx7 under Vista is an issue for more 'mainstream' gamers, so maybe that'll prod them.

How to run BVE4 under Windows Vista x86 and x64 and Windows 7

I notice that nvidia have announced the release of ForceWare 169.25 as of 20/12/07. Anyone feel like being the sacrificial guinea pig?

    New route released!

There's a signal just round the bend by the cement works which is a real b****r for sighting: please *don't* move that one as it's a great trap for the unwary when it's against you in the rescue diagram

    Trains...possible improvements?

Hi one TN I seem to recall being told that the risks were low when I put the code in, but as you say it keeps folk on their toes and I was hoping the nasty noise would get a reaction from users who hadn't bothered to read the driver's guide. You can always turn the probabilities right down...

    Trains...possible improvements?

It cuts power and operates the line, but not a breaker light - there doesn't seem to be one on the 323 which was the model for the plugin. The start of a neutral section is marked with beacon 20: .beacon 20;i;0;L i = index of beacon object (usually a null object in this case) L = length...

    Trains...possible improvements?

Already in the UKMUt plugin that the 323 and 390 use and has been for a year or two. Try running through one of the neutral sections on NWM with the power on and you risk drawing an arc with attendant crashing and banging and possible pan failure*. The risk is increased in the rain, but I...

    Correctly stopping at red signals...

Sometimes if you're early at an approach-controlled signal, it will be held at red by the ".pretrain" statement coded into the route to simulate the preceding train and will not clear as normal. In this case you should just stop at whatever distance your TOC/FOC specifies for red signals and...

    Trainsimcentral downloads

It really isn't up to TSC. Once the developer had withdrawn permission for his sounds to be used, the affected downloads had to be taken offline to avoid breaching copyright. The only possible solutions to the problem are for the developer in question to change his mind (unlikely) or for new...

    Fatal Erro on BVE

Figure of speech, Tom - Mackoy has been AWOL for a long time.

    Fatal Erro on BVE

Yes, one of us should have thought of that, given that josselin8 is posting from Paris  However, as Tom says, it doesn't usually cause a fatal error - this is the first I can remember in fact.

    Fatal Erro on BVE

Unfortunately, when BVE crashes it just displays a standard Windows message (either this one or "BVE has encountered an unhandled exception..."). Neither message tells you much about what went wrong. josselin8, Windows XP SP2 and .NET 2.0 are OK for BVE and most Nvidia cards are ok too, but...
