Donald Trump Auto Announcement at Liverpool South Parkway

Years ago (10+) there was a spate of official looking railway signs that popped up on various Merseyrail trains but were clearly parody. Things like: Please leave windows open to avoid asphyxiation [Complete with gas mask symbol]

Merseyrail mandates that Trainline tickets must be printed out

Curious! The stations just don't appear in the dropdown on our Evolvi system, but you can overtype the selected station and it will accept a Merseyrail station. I suspect it's a fudge someone has done to 'fix' Merseyrail being a pain in the past and it's just lingering now they've entered the...

Merseyrail mandates that Trainline tickets must be printed out

You can collect tickets at any Merseyrail ticket office, so Birkenhead Park should be able to print them for you. Just need a card and the ToD reference. They don't show up on the list of valid collection points though. That might actually be further compounding the confusion/issues. I did try...

Merseyrail mandates that Trainline tickets must be printed out

TPE but just checked our Evolvi system in the office and that offers them too. I think I remember that. It’s also made me wonder how they would handle the CCST tickets that have a QR code on them too

Merseyrail mandates that Trainline tickets must be printed out

Try Waterloo (Merseyside) and other Nothern Line stations. I tested a few near there and all offered e-tickets. And Merseyrail themselves saying “QR code” tickets need to be printed.

Merseyrail mandates that Trainline tickets must be printed out

As posted earlier, Milton Keynes Central to Merseyrail stations (not just the Liverpool Stations group) and vice-versa will give you an e-ticket.

Merseyrail legacy fleet updates (Class 507/508)

Probably because the last day of service for 507s has been pushed back. Not much of a farewell tour if they’re still running for months after it!

Merseyrail mandates that Trainline tickets must be printed out

I’ve personally had issues with e-tickets when our internal ticketing system was issuing them for Merseyrail flows. Usually just confused staff at barriers “letting me off this time” but a colleague had enough issues he pursued it with Merseyrail and our ticketing supplier. I’ve seen the email...

    Dangerous boarding procedures at Euston

I’m convinced the entire reason Euston is such a mess is to keep the ticket block happening. It’s entirely pointless when a TM can do it after departure or in times of heavy loading a few RPIs (redeployed from standing around Euston barriers) could hop on to assist. The Euston bods could do...

    Dangerous boarding procedures at Euston

I guess that's one way to handle it, but does rely on the TM being available and a revenue block being possible (or requred...) I was more thinking along the lines of the below. And this is from someone with no operational knowledge of Euston, just lots of painful usage: ex Manchester arrives...

Lost Merseytravel Rail duplicate season ticket

They already did for the Merseyrail only railcards. Must've been on it for 3 or 4 years now.

Regular Avanti user - Ticket buying advice please

No. Blame Avanti for setting every train to mandatory reservations and for how inept they are with boarding practices. But in a few months time it will be somewhat alleviated. They're rolling out a seat occupancy system that will clear unused reservations and allow new reservations of empty...

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

Apparently it was tripping the breakers each time it tried to draw power.

    Dangerous boarding procedures at Euston

Euston platforms are more than adequate to handle waiting passengers. The whole point is to avoid the crowds hitting the ramp and revenue block at the same time which is what causes the major issues. Advertising the platforms 5 minutes after the train has arrived and tipped out, with plenty of...
