There are now formers for concrete bases throughout the cutting between Giffnock station and Church road bridge, some have had the concrete poured.

Took a trip to Limekilns and Charlestown in Fife this morning.

Some large trees have been felled at Busby station, presumably in preparation for masts. 1713687851 The platform at Giffnock is not quite finished but six car trains are running again.

The signs at the station say the works will complete on 23 April.

Giffnock platform nearly done. I thought they might have laid in mounting points for the electrification masts but nothing visible.

The Giffnock platform is almost complete, another couple of weeks should see it done. Also, all the twin track cantilevers between Giffnock and Clarkston have booms and wire supports fitted.

The 14 month timescale has certainly raised lots of eyebrows.

Heading into Glasgow Central yesterday afternoon and passed a Pendolino between Mount Florida and Crosshill. Was there a problem with the main line? Odd to see such a big train passing through the tight cuttings in that area.

Booms and other bits have been fitted to some of the masts on the embankment between Church Road and Sutherland Drive.

Used to see train loads of Fords in the sidings at Arkleston near Paisley. I often wondered how many of them made it to the dealerships with all their parts intact.

Going by the noise in the distance overnight, there was piling between Clarkston and Busby. They’re certainly pressing on with it.

There are still some single track structures, look through the trees and you’ll see a couple with cantilevers already attached.
