I traveled relatively recently (September 2022) between Vienna & Paris. It was a pleasant enough experience, but not of exceptionally high quality. I wouldn’t call the trains dirty, but they are showing their age considerably.

It could be as simple as just a bad read of the QR code, just happens time to time. If the driver only scanned once, they may have knew their reader was acting up or just checking the chart is better for customer service/boarding speed.

Interestingly, the N43 appears as Edinburgh - Queensferry + Kirkliston on Bustimes.org, so chances are just a bit of bad data that's been fed around.

Far too much to justify it really but it'd be a better diversion route for when Perth gets remodelled on the Glasgow - Dundee/Aberdeen route, keeping Stirling in the calling points at least.

I've often wondered why that's not the preferred diversionary route, would mean Stirling isn't left out. Assuming Perth would be a long blockade, it may be sensible to evaluate that surely?

I believe it was reported elsewhere that as of the May timetable it's set to receive 4 services a day. Not an increase to justify the spend but worth noting.

Gleneagles station aside, the stretch between Dunblane and Perth could benefit Glasgow - Inverness/Aberdeen services
