First Combined Rail & Bus Tickets - FGW/ First Buses

Thanks :) I asked at my local station ticket office. The person had never heard of it, but found it on the system. First I had checked the ticket machine at the station (ATW), and that didn't have the Glastonbury Bus option. So you definitely have to ask at the ticket desk.

    Germany-Czech Republic-Poland Holiday July 2013

Your journey sounds amazing! :) I would definitely recommend Krakow and Warsaw. Warsaw is a wonderful city, and I would probably say my favourite in Poland due to the buzz and big city feel that you get there. I'd give yourself a few days to go and explore as it is a big city with lots to do...

First Combined Rail & Bus Tickets - FGW/ First Buses

Thanks :) I have found this fare on the FGW website. It is a bit strange though that you can't find it on thetrainline.com, National Rail Enquires, Arriva Train Wales etc. websites. I have noticed that there aren't any advanced fares, so the cheapest fare would be an off-peak single. Is...

    Advanced Ticket: Different London Terminals

Hi, I'm travelling on an Advanced ticket from South Wales to North Kent. My train obviously arrives at London Paddington and then will depart from London St. Pancras. What is the best way to get between the two station during the early afternoon? Does the ticket include tube/ bus travel...

    BBC Documentary 'The Railways'

This is what people on a general forum think. http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1797579 Some quotes: That basically sums up all of the forum responses.

    Aviation Discussion

October 2013 is looking a bit optomistic- some reports state it may not open until 2014. That's a nightmare for Air Berlin and to an extent Luftahnsa who have hubs which transfer people in their current Berlin airports. So much for German efficiency ;P

    Scottish independence

You're right about this being the wrong forum but... This year has been a 'highlight' of 'Britishness'. With the jubilee and the Olympics etc etc. 2014 may be a year that strongly 'highlights' 'Scottishness'. With the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and Scottish identity at the forefront...

    TrawsCambria / TrawsCymru

Pretty drastic cuts to Aberystwyth town services from Arriva. Service has been radically cut in just a few years. The real question asked by these moves is how much longer will Arriva remain in Mid Wales?

    South Wales electrification

IEPs and the extension of the planned electrification to Swansea are supposed to be announced on Monday. Good news for South Wales. Planning to electrify only to Cardiff almost defied logic.

    Aberystwyth Station Refurbishment

No it isn't. I would say the vast majority (90%+) use the entrance inbetween Wetherspoons and the Shilam Indian Restaurant. http://goo.gl/maps/vu8U A canopy already extends partially around the side of the building/ main entrance area. It doesn't look to bad or unsympathetic.

    Aviation Discussion

Munich narrowly voted against a new third runway, on a very poor turnout. Bad news for jobs, business and the ordinary person, good news for nimbys. Boris has backed an additional runway at Stansted. Why? Stansted is already heavily under capacity, and has had falling passenger numbers and...

    South Wales electrification

Pontypridd went from 20 mins to every 10 minutes. :) It amazing the level of service that is provided between Pontypridd and Cardiff on both bus and train. 6 trains and at least 10 buses per hour from the town centre to Cardiff.
