That move has only been possible since the layout changed in 2009 ready for the East London Line. Before that you could only reverse at South Croydon from the country end only as the bi directional signalling at the time wouldn’t allow London end reverse moves.
I very much doubt it as the new breed of signallers can only follow the plan printed in front of them instead of using all that brain power they demonstrated to get into the grade in the first place and free think and problem solve, however the few old signallers around will probably still use...
At our location 4 weeks of our leave is rostered with one week first winter period 2 weeks summer period and the final 1 week in the second winter period. The extra days and comp leave days can be taken as and when they are requested subject to enough cover. Also rostered leave can be swapped...
Our SIMBIDS on that section of line is not very flexible for long term running as the wrong direction section is too long especially with station stops.
Copyhold Junction to Balcombe Tunnel Junction was modernised to full Bi-Di running where you can flight the trains but Preston Park to Keymer Junction is still the old 1980s SIMBIDS with only one signal section for the whole of the wrong direction.

You beat me to it, but we are using the SIMBIDs between Preston Park and Keymer Junction although it’s not a very efficient method of working as you can only one up train in section from Preston Park to Keymer Junction (wrong direction) against the normal amount in the right direction.
There are no Bakerloo or any other underground signalling controls in the ELL Signaller centre, just one signallers workstation and one shift signallers managers workstation.
The whole of the East London Line from Highbury & Islington to New Cross inclusive, New Cross Gate exclusive (fringe with TBROC) & Queens Road Peckham exclusive (fringe with TBROC).
Works a 12hr shift pattern but I’m not sure on the actual rotation.
There have a lot of route learning trips over the last week which I guess was to get enough necessary drivers route qualified. Certainly made East Croydon busy yesterday weaving trains through the layout before other events overtook the train plan.
Interesting as the previous platform 6 could fit a 12 car going southbound and the platform was lengthened slightly at the London end when they altered the layout.
Southern terminate 3 trains an hour in platform 5, platform 2 gets used for ad-hoc Southern mainline trains that are running too late for London Victoria. I don’t think I’ve signalled a Thameslink train into the Norwood Pertibation siding since covid massacred the service, when the Three Bridges...
I would prefer qualified drivers over trainee drivers making a visit to our ASC as they will ask more probing questions and require for more in depth answers, especially junction working, rare shunt moves and we can show them where we have signalling overlap issues that prevent multi routes...
