I agree, five seems like a pretty decent amount, and other than the IE 29000, the replacement trains aren't even that bad. Shame if you booked first class though.

Hull Trains managed to have leather headrests without making a mess of it all.

The LNER ones are extremely hard and bulky. Not sure why they changed them from the default ones. It looks terrible, too.

Been on plenty of narrow back seats that offer a good amount of recline. I'd much rather we gave people the choice. Even the horrible 800 seats are a lot better with recline (see 387s).
