Also had exactly the same email asking me to redo the SJT. Surely this application is dead in the water after nearly 2 years? I'm pretty sure it's the website pinging out automated emails and behind the scenes there is bugger all going on and it keeps the hopes up! haha
Is there anyone still waiting for an update on this job? I initially applied back in April and each time I log in it still says "application under consideration". Is this normal?
I have emailed them and had no response but I can imagine they have a lot to get through.
Thanks for the reply mate.
When you mention turn over is that as in a chance to go up to being a mainline driver?
I currently work in the emergency services but becoming a train driver really appeals to me.
Thank you all for the info, really appreciate it.
Still very tempted, as said being a depot driver can only benefit towards becoming a mainline driver. My other worry is job security. Is this generally quite securely or are you easily able to swap over to different train operators if anything...
Hi Alessio,
How did you get on starting? I'm currently looking at applying to be a trainee depot driver with GA but hoping you're able to progress to a mainline driver over time.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Hi, I'm unable to DM you but been searching up on GA Depot Driving. They are currently recruiting Trainee's for the role and just wondered if you could give any more info?
Ideally, I'd like to become a mainline driver over time and wondered whether this was possible and also whether the DD's...
Very tempted to apply. The salary though is lower than my current job as it states £24,448 - £29,195 (Depending on Location)...
Is this purely whilst training? Is there any chance of becoming a mainline driver at all and if so would it go up?
Thanks
