  • Hey TDK. I replied to your post on the forum regarding ATW, that I've applied for the position in Chester and Llandudno Junction.
I'm not going to ask you to review my application etc, as it's already submitted and I'm fully aware that if I don't make the cut, I don't make the cut. End of.

However, if you would be so kind as to wish me good luck that would be fantastic. :)
TDK, I'm not 42, not degree educated, not English, nor do I live within 30 mins from the depot... but I was wondering if you'd be kind enough to review and application of mine. Please?

I know you must feel frustrated with the amount of questions you get... but this isn't some "give me the answers plz" kind of thing, just love to get your opinion on things. Let me know...
Im new to this site, can anyone advise how i become a train driver, point me in the right direction, ive been a black cab driver for over 30 years and want to change my career, im 56 any chance do you think at my age ! where do I start ? any advise ? [email protected]
Hi TDK I see you are very helpful in some forums. I have a friend who has got through to the MTR assessment. I know you have mention in one of the forums about dress codes etc My friend does not want to clean shave as it makes him look very young so he wants to keep a short beard but have it shaped and tidied by the barbers the day before. Would you say that would be acceptaple? Or would you say clean shaven always? Thanks
Thanks for the info T, I have already registered with ATW, and there never seems to be an opening with VT (from what I've heard anyway). I will trawl the forum for the info that I need.
    Fingers crossed eh!

Once again thanks for the reply.
Hi TDK I posted a thread below earlier and someone called "Bob" mentioned your name and that you are rather knowledgeable in this field. I hope you don't mind me contacting you directly and I hope you can help me with my question.

I am 32 and currently serving in the RAF with nearly 12 years behind me with a look to make a big career change. Is there anyway of getting some kind of work experience or some form of exposure to the train driver's world? The reason I ask is I want to make sure that making such a big change not to just my career but a change that will inevitably effect my family, is obviously the right one.

Forgive me if this question has been asked before, this is the first time using any type of forum tbh.

I am based at RAF Valley at the moment with Holyhead/Bangor being the closest stations to me.

Thanks in advance for any info!
Thanks for that. It will probably be a plus for me being a mechanic on buses and having the pcv licence. So im well used to the public transport.
Hey tdk. Sorry to bother you I no your always asked this. But do you no anything about scotrail driver manager interviwsnas I have one on monday, have to write out 300 word report. Should be easy enough but what do you think they are likely to ask me so as I can study answers. thanks very much.
Ah ok, noticed they took aboard video camera and tripod i'm guessing for a last drivers eye view.
I'll upload the video to youtube later.
Hi, just a quickie, were you on the last 67 that left Wrexham on the Saturday morning on the return to Depot?
