Yep, exactly why they are getting four cars. Manchester-Preston line platform extensions are pretty much complete and ready for six car 323 running *hint hint* pls send the next ones up. We’ve got two car DMUs covering multiple EMU diagrams every day now.

The 12 four car 331s will be based out of Liverpool working stopper/express services.

323s will become the default traction for Northern in the North West. Northern have indicated their desire to run six car 323 Blackpool-Manchester services. Hence all the platforms extensions due to lack of SDO.
