I’m a newly qualified driver and I just use one foot but do occasionally swap between the two (Class 66)

We have had two weeks in the classroom and onto our third and final week of the practical element of the RO role.

I had my interview in March 2019 and started December 2019. However others on my course had an interview in October 2019. Can be a short time or long. Where will you be based? I’m just on a night shift doing the RO shunting training before we start our Drivers rules in two weeks

Can only assume this is linked to the work they do at the Trafford Park Euro Terminal although that’s at the opposite end of the Manchester area to Stockport. Don’t think there is a depot up there so must be new work?

Should be getting confirmation this week!

Driving course? How come it wasn’t suitable?

There was some uncertainty whether the course would be in Birmingham or Peterborough but heard nothing concrete yet

Still very quiet. Want to know a bit more about starting location etc!

Wonder when we’ll get the information as to where the initial training will be. Hopefully soon. Anyone reckon we’ll have Christmas and New Year off (not likely!!)

Anyone received anything?

Don’t expect to be told what exactly you’ve failed on. Although I had passed the tests already I was after the enhanced standard (which I didn’t meet) but when I rung up go say “How close was I?” I got told, “We can’t tell you that” which is quite ridiculous!

Are the Contracts coming via email or post?

I just hope that the clothes they give us are insulated!! Going to be cold!

Will be good - wonder how many people from the RO course on the 2nd Dec will be going forward to the Trainee Driver course?
