    1995 TS New announcements

    1) I always feel when I've been on other transport systems outside the UK (mainly in Europe), they always make an effort to accommodate tourists as much as their commuters. London is one of the most popular tourist destinations. It's a nice gesture and can imagine it would just help tourists get...

    1995 TS New announcements

I'm pretty sure these are new, but the interchanges for Euston/Clapham High Street would confirm that. On the topic of announcements, is there any reason TfL LU haven't introduced multi-language announcements? Especially on the tourist hotspot lines (Central/Piccadilly/CDHS/Jubilee). Some of...

Tube staff plan five days of strikes

One too many. There shouldn't need to be any at all. I don't understand how the public sector feel that their employment is avoidable to job cuts/pay cuts. There were plenty of industries that felt a lot of pain with pay freezes for many years plus many redundancies. At the end of the day, TfL...

Russell Brand confesses to being a fare evader

I'll backtrack that comment after reading a bit more on the story where this was a bit more of a single occurrence related to a specific set of gigs in Southend (although going to Chelmsford first is odd) rather than repeated (which I thought it was). I guess I meant anyone seeing him on public...

Tube staff plan five days of strikes

I did hear about the new grades/pay cuts. It's something no-one should have to bare and TfL should do better to protect the people who want to stay on. However, surely more of the staff converted front-line will assist the 24-hour tube? IMHO, RMT don't portray themselves entirely well in...

Tube staff plan five days of strikes

This such a pointless exercise. I personally feel no sympathy for the unions anymore and feel that should just suck it up to try make the best for what's inevitable. TfL have to streamline to save money somehow (what company hasn't had to in recent times?) In the name of technology now, ticket...

Russell Brand confesses to being a fare evader

Regular commuters will be on the hunt out for him now for certain. However, why would he ever need to go to Chelmsford? To be honest, he probably got away with it in an evening/night at weekends when both Chelmsford and Liverpool St have their gates fully open. I've never seen anyone dodge the...

Northern line Morden branch commuters urged to walk to ease overcrowding

I don't understand why TfL don't offer the Boris Bike scheme down to Clapham Common and allow passengers to get discounted fair to either... - Cycle up to Stockwell where the congestion dissipates because of many getting off to join the Victoria Line. - Cycle across to Brixton as hardly anyone...

    Incident at Holland Park

Unprofessional, could be dangerous if the driver is caught off guard because feet on the dash means relaxed then can equal not concentrating. If I had my feet on the desk in an office area where the public can enter; I'd probably be sacked. No excuse for a train driver and I'll happily keep...

    Incident at Holland Park

For one, that's pretty worrying that's even allowed. Especially when you're carrying hundreds of passengers at peak. I'm happy to say I did mention it on twitter and TfL did want to know when I saw the driver. So I guess it is frowned upon. Anyway, that's not the issue here and I'm not...

    Incident at Holland Park

Woah, calm down. That's my general observations from a passenger perspective. However, considering I have seen train drivers with their feet up whilst in the cab, I do question the attitude and attention some drivers take. Of course, that's probably the minority and I've only ever seen it at the...

Northern and Bakerloo to not call at Embankment for 43 weeks

They've been doing the same at Edgware Road (Bakerloo) and started taking off all the tiles on the platforms. Bit weird seeing a darkish platform!

    Incident at Holland Park

This is general issue with weekend service on LU. The drivers don't tend to be sharp in responding to incidents or communicating with passengers. Although not on the same emergency level; I got on a Victoria train from Stockwell. We got to Pimlico and we didnt move for at least 15 minutes. No...

Northern and Bakerloo to not call at Embankment for 43 weeks

Damn! I normally get off at Embankment and change for the Bakerloo which is a quicker change than Waterloo or Charing Cross (coming from Tooting Bec). And I secretly like the direct walkway between the two lines. Being honest though; those escalators do need replacing!

Victoria Line doors opening before train has stopped.

I've started using the Bakerloo line regularly and this is the case most of the time. However, most of the underground lines (central, bakerloo, northern especially) I've seen this. I guess it depends on the drivers and their attitude. Some are precise and don't open until a full stop. Some open...
