To be fair Cambridge and surrounding area is pricey... prestigious uni and London commuters. Avoid Arbury/King's Hedges/Orchard Park/Cottenham. Newmarket, Burwell, Swaffham Prior have some pleasant places
Well done. The managers interview is largely along the line of
-can you give a time when you had to deal with a difficult situation
-working to rules
Experiences relating to past work, why you think you will be right for job etc.
good luck. Who is it with?
The roleplay assessment you are given info regarding a fictional service/station. You may be asked about assistance for a mobility impaired passenger, timetable queries. Pretty much what you will encounter in daily life as a conductor.
I'm sure Norwich is a lovely depot ;)
Will be concentration test (SCAAT), ticket checking/selling test. Rules test and a customer service roleplay. Did they send you practice materials?
Good luck, my first was a conductor assessment. Which depot are you going for?
It's not them telling you when you are off. You usually have a rota split into lines (eg. Line 1 for 2014, line 7 for 2015 etc). There may be an option to split a weeks leave into days works out well if you are able to get lieu days for bank holidays too!
There isn't a great deal to TRP2, the coloured segments are left to right in order of priority. The numbers-the lower the number, the higher priority if there is more than 1 arrow in the same segment.
4 dials, time limit & you are the challenge. Just shows you can work to a taught procedure
When I had a random D&A test was asked if I had consumed any energy drinks & protein shakes. Also had to give dates (even if an approximation). Urine was checked for drugs even stuff like PCP.
Remaining was tested for diabetes and protein present in urine (for kidney function).
The reason...
Sadly it is the case. From what I have read does seem far more difficult than the CBI was.
According to a leaflet I read from the RSSB website it is used to measure your ability to work calmly and methodically under pressure.
It is annoyingly subjective as was the CBI.
Perhaps because it forms part of the psychometric testing you are required to pass in order to drive trains
The managers interview does not use any of your 'lives'
With regards to the pay I have no idea. Is possibly the upper.
Corporate induction Stratford. Training at Norwich, few days out for visits to different signal boxes and control
