    Gate lamp burners

I had a feeling that might be the case but thank you anyway! Given that the lenses are red it shouldn't be an issue to obtain the correct colour!

    Gate lamp burners

Hi all, I have decided to undertake a project to create an LED "burner" for a set of gate lamps and was wondering if anyone happens to know the dimensions for the base and the height to the focus point? Inches/Centimetres/Millimetres all accepted!! I would go and measure the ones they are...

Virgin West Coast First Class From Edinburgh

Hi All, Long time no post as I've been busy with other stuff. I am looking at booking on the 1849 off Edinburgh on a Friday evening. What sort of food would I expect in first class? The timetable simply says hot snacks but what does this entail?

Trespass incident during PRCLT event at Appleby

Looking at the original pictures the train was on the other line which has no water tower and locos are required to be filled using the pressure fillers and a road tanker. The train normally would draw up to the starter and pipes laid from the tanker to the loco. From the photos it looks like...

    Electric Train Heat Question

Some MK1s were steam heat only, some electric heat only and some had both systems. Presumably the mentioned Mk1 was one of the later 2.

Could the line to Keswick ever reopen?

As far as I know it isn't really used apart from railtours if they stop in Penrith or during times of disruption. Only 3 services are on the WTT for a Monday (Just picked a day at random) all of which are freight probably being overtaken.

    Internal lighting of heritage coaches

I have heard that you can get a regulator unit which over fields the dynamo so that you get full output at a much lower speed than normal making them more suited to heritage operations. No idea how much one costs mind.

What happens when you pull the emergency handle?

Some older butterfly fitted units have steps on the ends to climb up to the valve as well, if they haven't rusted to the point of not being able to take weight that is!

Rare - BR Class 411 / 4cep on the move

I'd say that it would just be a straight run round the train assuming that they were using extension air pipes instead of that coach to get to the high level pipes and the coach was only being used for brake force...

Rare - BR Class 411 / 4cep on the move

Looking at it as it goes past it looks as if there is no shoe gear on it

    ircas late: impossible to pay

I had this problem a few weeks ago and when I asked the woman on the phone (I got fed up and she offered to enter it manually for me) she said that if they aren't entered by the deadline (3 weeks after issue?) then you don't get the admin fee added on for a bit longer. This is all from...

    Class 91....

IIRC the traction motors aren't axle hung so as to reduce the unsprung mass. They instead are mounted on the bogie frame so need prop shafts to connect to the axles. I am happy to be corrected on any of the above!!
