Storm Isha may affect your journey in parts of England, Scotland and Wales on Sunday 21 and Monday 22 January

There have yet to be any satisfactory comparisons to the challenges our railways face in high winds.

You should be fine. If there are a few go-arounds it may delay your departure but it's a bit calmer tomorrow afternoon.

And we're still several hours from the peak of this storm. There's a chance of short-track tornadoes forming in some of the heavier showers along the west coast of the UK, there's already been one reported near Cork.

I don't think the two industries can be compared to be honest. Most of the issues with high winds on the railways are due to overhead wire problems and trees that have blocked the track. When a tree comes down across a road, you'll have a number of alternative routes, even for HGVs . There are...

I'm surprised the tabloids haven't had a moan about "the wrong kind of wind" like they do when they deliberately act dumb to misinform the public.

You've not worked on the railway have you? Let's see how well your comment ages.

There are two storms, one tonight and another on Tuesday night. In between will be pretty gusty too.

Looking at the weather maps, Eastern parts of East Anglia may be spared the worst but the area north of London, bordering on the fens could have some very strong gusts, so I'm surprised they're only in the yellow area.

    Reliability of electrified lines

Greater Anglia topping the reliability charts even though a significant proportion of their services are electrified. Having a new fleet and a recent OHL replacement program helps though.

How to deal with MMI question

Best of luck. It's safe to say that "I'd phone my union rep", "Wait for it to blow over" or "take my PNB" are not correct answers to any of the questions.

    Great Northern Fleet Tender

Delighted for Great Northern customers after losing their excellent Networkers they've been commuting on trains that really aren't built for comfortable long-distance commuting. So long as they don't rip-out the seating these units will be a big step-up in comfort.

Greater Anglia Bombardier Aventras (Class 720): Technical discussion and introduction

Sometimes on the railway it's best not to try to find logic and just work with what you've got.

    Train Simulator 2021

Agree with all of that. It's just over 13 miles but it's a 40 minute trip so it won't seem as short as some others. But yes, the routes are much shorter in TSW which feels like a backward step and a rip-off. I find TSC so much more immersive. I'm hoping that, like the Glossop Line release, this...

    Football

Even though I'm a Gooner, I want them to beat City. Real football clubs over plastic ones, every time.

    Train Simulator 2021

I realise that it's got nothing on TSC but it looks like the next UK route for TSW will be Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside with a Class 710 which is a route I'm looking forward to as I'm not a fan of Turbostars and driving a 2 car DMU around London in the TSC version. I do hope they find a...
