Hi all,
Well it's been a 3 year journey of assessments, interviews and a medical but I finally have a start date to move from guard and train as a driver.
Thanks to all on here that have generously given of their experiences and knowledge.
Best of luck to all in future.
Congratulations, however, people are not going to post specific questions here. It's not fair to do so and there is an unwritten rule. Be aware that management browse these forums too.
Take a look at the job spec skills and try to work out how they will ask you to prove you've demonstrated...
Biggest tip for pictures test is don't guess and tick an object if you're not 100 percent sure it was there. You get marked down for things you say you saw that weren't there.
For the joysticks, hold them low in your fist to have more control.
For the grey square. Ignore when everyone else is...
The problem for GWR with these long-wait talent pools is that successful candidates whilst waiting, use their GWR sponsored OPC testing and go elsewhere.........I'm still in their pool and yet start with another TOC in September having done just that.
There have been no courses for my depot since I applied.
Speculation for speculations sake is pointless, unhelpful and will serve only to freak out the worriers on this forum. Perhaps that is what some posters want?
Deal in facts from your TOC/FOC people.
In my experience GWR do a good job of staying in touch with "swimmers". I have been in pool (proper pool having passed everything) for a year and have had two proactive updates from them. Plus they always respond courteously to ad-hoc requests within 2-7 days. No complaints here.
Exactly. This is the wording from GWR email I received:
"We are pleased to inform you that you have completed the assessment process and were successful at your interview for this role.
You have therefore been placed in the talent pool for Trainee Train Driver at *****"
So, to GWR a talent...
My applications have just disappeared from the portal. They have been there as 'submitted' for months but upon logging in today they are gone?
Also when trying to access the emails they sent on the portal I have 'access denied'
Guessing they have withdrawn vacancies?
