Hi there,

I'm meeting a friend tomorrow, who's from Nottingham and is visiting family in Manchester. We've planned to go for a few drinks in Manchester and catch up as it's been a year since I've seen him. For both of our convenience I was thinking about going to the Terraces Sports Bar in Manchester. Of course, I got to take the cost in mind, is it fairly cheap, or quite expensive for a pint?

May I recommend you check out Trip Advisor for Manchester pubs. Suppose it friends on what you're after alcohol wise too. I'd personally stick to CAMRA's Good Beer Guide ;)

you can't get much cheaper than The Piccadilly or Spoons, both are good for a drink. The Piccadilly is the Red Pub found if you leave the main entrance and follow the approach and Piccadilly down toward Piccadilly Gardens on the right before the second crossing.

Cheers for advise guys. Ended just having one in that new and extremely expensive bar in picadilly station. We did go to The Picadilly but it was just too full. Shame I missed the Mayfield, and what do you mean about TOC card?

The best one by Piccadilly is my local, the Bulls Head. Friendly and clean little pub, usually full of rail staff.

It's opposite the taxi rank (the back) end of the station facing Fairfield Street.
