Last night, I booked a standard class advance ticket for the 1425 service from Exeter St. Davids to Bristol Temple Meads on Monday 24th September, which is aboard XC's HST (as seen here.)

I picked up the tickets today, and saw that the seat booked is G 08A, being curious to see where it is, I looked up a XC HST seating plan (seen here), and to my surprise, there isn't one!

Has this happened to anyone else before? I'm not overly bothered about it, as I'm sure I'll be able to find another seat, it just made me laugh, and I was wondering if anyone knows why this has happened, or if there actually is a seat there, the seating plan is just wrong.

Thanks!

Just a thought, but looking at this train today in open train times it suggests timed for a HST tue-fri, so I wonder whether it is a voyager on a monday? Perhaps as a consequence of weekend summer specials?

If you allow me 24 hours I can check and confirm this with Cross Country for you, as I now have direct access to their services

It's quite a recurring issue on East Coast HSTs with the 'missing seat M20'. The seat seems to exist in some sets and not others.

As you rightly identify, its hardly likely to be a problem for you (though Print at Home customers may be understandably anxious - not that I've come across a P-a-H ticket holder booked into a 'missing sat M20').

So I was on this service today (somehow it wasn't delayed due to flooding, I think northbound trains were okay, I saw a Voyager going southbound stopped just before some flooding), and it turns out it was a HST, and that there was a seat G 08, the seating plans must just be wrong :P

the seating plan does say that coach G may differ... did the coach have as much wheelchair space as the diagram?

No big loo either then? Seems a little odd that they'd know this in advance- is there a set (or more) running around without an "accesible" standard class carriage?
