Just out of interest - the Ribblehead trains have a curious history (the former morning starter now comes through from Carlisle, but only in the last couple of years).
I can't check exact years, because most of my old t/ts are stored but from memory:
after the S and C stoppers were withdrawn (early 70's), Settle only had a minimal service. Instead, stops were put in at Giggleswick (etc) on the Heysham "night boat train." to cover what had been a Garsdale-Skipton commuter (Skipton College students?)
When these in turn bit the dust, the predecessors of the present service were put on. I think at that stage they turned at Settle, until the box there was closed. Ribblehead Viaduct had been singled as well, so Blea Moor became the first possible turnback point. The morning positioning working was always ECS from Skipton but the evening train back became a passenger, to pick up Three Peaks walkers (etc.).
Oh, and the 1919 had to terminate at Horton for some years until the new down platform at Ribblehead was built...
