This is the Sundays only, London St Pancras to York service. During the summer months it is extended to Scarborough.

There are EMT services to York, Sunday's only, one arrives with a working from Leicester (1F01) at 1246 and then one departs as 1C79 from York to London St Pancras at 1742. This justify's an EMT presence in York, not sure what the unit does between those two times.

Sits in Platform Seven all day normally.

I've always thought it must be a very pleasant turn this. You work the train to York get about four hours in York and then drive home again.

I was thinking that, I bet it's a popular turn, but worked by different crew every week to maintain route knowledge!

I think when we took the Meridian from Scarborough, we came to a similar conclusion (unless they travelled passenger back to EMT land and another driver did the return) where it is possible they bring the service in at like 10-11am (can't remember exact time), have a day in Scarborough and then return some 6 hours later. Can't be bad! (unless, typically, it's raining....)

it just sits in York and has a bit of rest and a think about the day ahead.

I did wonder if the driver was based at Neville HIll, drove up to York, went passenger to Leeds and booked off.

Took this at about 5:30 so I don't think it's you in the shot, Rich! There's a Saturday service through summer which sits in platform 7 all day as said above, but whenever I've been in on a Sunday the unit working this service sits in a siding just south of the station, where they sometimes stable/shunt Freightliner coal wagons.

I went to Leeds for a couple of hours last Sunday and on the way out it was sat in the sidings outside the station, and when I got back to York it was about to leave from Platform 10 as it did tonight.

It was 222001 last week too. Nice to see something different in York!

It's booked to and from Holgate Sidings. No idea whether it does that or indeed sits in P7 though.

It varies, whenever I've seen it about half the time it seems to sit in P7 the other half it's in the Holgate Sidings.

That's the one, Was on a East Coach HST heading north (alighted at Northallerton)
