Wb64 is being stood down from 7th December to standby/charter use only.
Last scheduled working is Friday 7th Dec 1843 to Crewe.
Catch it while you can...
Well chosen. To quote Pirates of the Carribean: "The world isn't getting smaller, there is just less in it."
Well chosen.
Well, I suppose that'll see me on the 18:43 out of Euston this Friday then, not only to mark my last day of commuting into and out of London, but also the last opportunity I am likely to have to travel on the Pretendolino in regular service.
Indeed, it will undoubtedly crop up in service at some point in the future, but in a far less predictable manner compared to it's present weekly activities.Only nine years since WCML hauled trains were supposed to end...and you'd still be a brave man to predict this will be the end of the end!

What for? The last service?Anyone got timings?

Half an hour: Arrives at 21:15, and leaves again for Wembley at 21:45, hauled by a class 57.Does anyone know roughly how long it sits at Crewe before heading back to London?
They could hire it at a discount to GA to work on London -Norwich
That would be great, but it won't happen sadly. GA downsized their fleet when they took over as it was, and they seem fine with what they have. I still really hope this happens though :P I the Pretendolino is less mangy than some of GA's Mark 3s.

As did NX before - Cant remember what those four ex NXEA / 'ONE' Mk3s are up to these days, hopefully not rotting around in store in Long Marston.

It would seem awfully logical, but as you said unlikely to happen. It could have replaced the 321 that I believe does a Norwich - Liverpool Street return working. (May not be 100% right - East Anglia is not my patch!!)
They disbanded an LHCS set in December 2009 to form other rakes up to 9 cars, and stored the remainder of it. Since then one coach has been reintroduced. There is a 321 diagram to Norwich (1702 LST-NRW, 1930 NRW-LST), but Greater Anglia want this to stay as a 321 for the forseeable future (I emailed them about it, and that was how they responded).

Anybody know what worked the second to last service tonight?
Cheers
