Hi,

EAST COAST advertising these vacancies if anyone is interested.

CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSISTANTS (on board) based @ Kings cross & Leeds.

I wonder if that documentary last week at kings cross has anything to do with it, rebuilding bridges sort of thing :)

Cheers

Hmmm interesting to see EC are now recruiting on a regular basis, couple of weeks ago they had a position for a Train Guard and now this.

It's about time as it's very rare to see these guys recruit externally!

Good luck to all those who apply:D

That's not really a great way to look at it if your looking to get into the railway world. There are ex CSAs that are now now guards, drivers, and managers.

Or if you look at it another way, there's ex platform staff who've gone on to do these roles - There's a number of staff who used to work at Peterborough station who have gone on to become drivers and guards, quite successfully I ought to mention.

Hardly. CSA is just a fancy title for catering crew.

Correct - these are on board, catering staff jobs. If you can engineer a career from this starting point, fair play to you, but not a fast track to train driving, etc!!!!

However, if you are in the market place for customer facing work, it is a heck of a lot better, than most other options.
