Interests trains, buses, aircraft. (Yes, I spot all three) Also blatant over use of my over 60s freedom pass. Travelling on all the lines and routes I never got a chance to when work got in the way.
My son is a driver on the London Underground Jubilee line. Having also done stints on the Northern and Metropolitan. (He wasn't that impressed with the new S stock.)
My daughter lives in Scotland. So I frequently drive up to stay with her. But if an all too frequent hospital appointment back in London crops up. It's quicker and cheaper, I find, to do the round trip on a Virgin Leany over thingy.
In my wallet all the usual plus a senior rail card and the London Freedom Pass

hi there,

I've been having a look at this forum with interest for quite a long time and finally decided to join. I have been enthusiastic about railways ever since the early 1970s as a toddler when my dad would often take me on journeys to various places including depot open days.

I love the BR blue era with a particular interest in electrics including the LMR AC and the DC Woodhead route.

I live in central Scotland and have fond memories of exploring the Glasgow area network with the various routes, depots and yards in the 1970s and 80s.:)

Hello everyone!

Name: Chutters (Nickname from school, university and ever since)
Age: 40

Rail interests: Grew up next to a railway line in south Wales, so I had the joy of blue 37's at full power past my bedroom window, about 15 feet away from the line. Now just a frequent passenger on the WCML.
Works: For a bank. Don't judge me for it though!
Likes: 70's 80's nostalgia. Blue wasn't boring!
Dislikes: 6 hours on a Voyager to Plymouth.

I've been looking at RailUK Forums for far too long as a lurker, and decided it was time to join in!

Hi, I'm Antje - I tried using that username but the spam filter blocked it so it might be a technical problem (it's a very common German name). Can a moderator please check what's causing it?

I came here because I noted the London Underground subforum and there were some things that were not on District Dave so I needed to create an account to comment on the posts there.

BIB SOO many people think this - SO MANY, and myself included before I'd met anyone, and its just so far from the truth. By the way, take off a couple of years, the buses and the football and I could have mistaken that profile for my own!

I thought you weren't interested in 158s, especially those operated by East Midlands Trains <D

Yes Yorkie mentioned that a number of people were referring to me as AT Walex on the West Mids meet! I know it's obvious but it's meant to be ATW Alex 101 as in 'Arriva Trains Wales' Alex 101 :D

I must be the only person to whom the clear reference to Arriva Trains Wales jumped out! Unfortunately I didn't register the rest of your name as a result of this. Least I didn't come up with something as awful as "AT-Walex"!! :p

Oh, and Whitney's Miltank.

Partially used ticket (YNG CHU - AWK, planning on using to go to Chester next week)
Dentist's appointment card.
A bit over 20 pounds
$3.64
an RTV for 12.50
a cheque for 57.90 that I haven't got round to cashing.
A photo of me, Sammi (my best friend) and Chloe (my niece) in New Brighton (a trip we'd taken in May after turning our wallets out and finding that we couldn't afford Blackpool)

What's the '101' significance then? You're clearly not old enough to remember the Class 101 units in service (scarily, it's almost 10 years ago since they finished...).
