Evening all,

Heard reports from a GA employee and others that 156415 is now on short term loan to Abellio Greater Anglia to relieve some of the unit shortage we currently have. I believe it to have arrived as the leading unit (into Norwich) of 1L03 0731 ex Derby this morning and that it is only with us during the Nottingham blockade.

If anyone has any idea as to daily diagrams, please post however I should imagine it will be put into the general 156 pool.

Can confirm it was on 1L03 0731 Derby to Norwich with 158857; however, for some reason was swapped with 158785 on 1R82 1057 Norwich to Liverpool.

where have EMT found the slack in there fleet from for this, or is it another case of profits before passengers.

I would imagine that they have some spare units lying around during the blockade as the loan is only for the period of the blockade.

There must be a few units lying around idle, yes. I suspect one constraint on their use is the ability of Etches Park to cope with the extra workload - so I don't think anyone's missing out in this case.

156415 has formed the following diagram today:

NC703:
ECS Crown Point to Lowestoft
0807 Lowestoft to Ipswich
1017 Ipswich to Lowestoft
1207 Lowestoft to Ipswich
1417 Ipswich to Lowestoft
1607 Lowestoft to Ipswich
1817 Ipswich to Lowestoft
2007 Lowestoft to Ipswich
2219 Ipswich to Bury St Edmunds
ECS to Ipswich CS

I have been told that Greater Anglia where possible are wanting to keep the unit away from Norwich so that it doesn't confuse passengers travelling on the EMT Liverpool service.

The only restriction the unit has got is that it CANT work the Sudbury line as it is not fitted with the in CAB equipment that tells the signal man the position of the train whilst on the Sudbury branch.

Can anyone tell me if the unit still has its Blue EMT destination blinds fitted or has it bee fitted with Greater Anglia Black and Yellow blinds?

When I took the unit yesterday whilst working the 16:07 Lowestoft to Ipswich service, the blue destination blinds were still present. Confusingly it also half read Peterborough/Nottingham!
