Virgin Trains pay dates? Railway pension advice.

I'm due to start my training for CSA platforms Wolverhampton on Sept 23, and am planning my budgets and finance, do all VT employees get paid on the same day? if so what are the next 2 or 3 pay dates, my paperwork also states that I'll be entered into the railway pension is this mandatory or volunt ary? Do they deduct a set percentage or do you agree to pay X amount, and do VT match what you out in?

Hi, our next pay dates are Fri 13th Sept, Friday 11th Oct and every four weeks after that.

As far as I know entry to the VT section of the railway pension scheme is mandatory. Your contributions are, I think, a percentage of your basic pay.
VT will make employer contributions as well and you will also have the opportunity to join Brass 2 which is basically AVC's (additional voluntary contributions). VT won't match anything in that for you, you've long missed the deadline for that I'm afraid.

I know when I started as a CSA we were all given the opportunity to opt out, however, once you do thats it: theres no going back in.
