Hello all,

I'm trying to obtain fare charts for the 141, 143 and X3 services in Bromsgrove operated by Redditch Depot for 141/143 and Kiddiminster for X3.

I have tried to get via email the fare charts, and i was told these are not available. Would i be able to put in a FOI Request?, Never put one in before so would be helpful if someone could explain.

I think the fares are set by Worcestershire County Council, so would i go to Diamond or the Council?

I'm writing a piece for the Redditch Review, including a short section about the Bromsgrove Area services and would be helpful if i could get the fare charts.

If the fares are set by the Council you should be able to submit an FOI request I believe - WhatDoTheyKnow is an excellent website which will help you send the request to the right person.

If they are set by the company then there is not much you can do (I heard somewhere it is a requirement for drivers to have a copy of the fare tables on them - so you could ask a driver - if this is true!) as FOI requests are only for public bodies, and not private companies, so they have every right to withhold it*!

*even though I think it's a stupid idea to withhold it...!

The driver has to show it on request, yes.

Whether he has to allow you to photo it with a cameraphone is another matter.

However, I believe that having them in an ETM may be sufficient.
