I have never travelled from Newark Northgate before and I was thinking of driving there from Leicester and then leaving my car for a couple of days with a trip to Scotland.
Does the car park at Newark become full very easily or should I be OK, it would probably be around 11-00am in a weekday morning when I arrived.
TIA

Just seen this.

Yes it does get busy, with commuters parking. The North car park especially...then again it's managed by East Coast whereas the South car park is NCP. I believe they have differing prices.

By all means try and get in the North Car park; though it was full when i arrived there a few weeks ago (a Monday) at 09:15hrs.

Opposite and next door to the station is Robin Hood parking. I have always found spaces there especially on the station side. Better still it is cheaper.

Yes it is barriered. I do not know who owns it other than ROBIN HOOD CAR PARKS. It is in two parts - a small park opposite the station and a large one if this is full on the same side of the road as the station. You collect a ticket and pay at the machine just before you exit by card or cash. Walking from the car to station entrance can be nearer than the far end of the railway north car park and it is considerably cheaper than the railway parking. As the previous note says there is street parking even immediately outside the station if you are lucky but be careful there are many residents only areas intermingled with parking spaces.
