I shall be at home in Good Ole Lowestoft with my family, travelling home on advances, Std on Virgin to Euston and then First Class from there to Norwich via Liverpool Street and the First class lounge and then onwards on board hopefully the GA service from there to Lowestoft...

I had an AP on Leeds to Manchester last Friday night at 17:40... Was unable to board (as expected, frankly) because TPE decided to grace us with a single 170, which turned up 20 minutes late. Ohhh, the joys. 1 hour delay to my journey... will get all of the £4.90 it cost back I suppose.

I shall get up, walk down stairs and spend the rest of the day in the living room. Probably take the dog for walk at some point as well.

I will be doing much the same - albeit a different living room and we don't have a dog to walk. Some of the extended family will be about too

You need to work on how to squeeze oneself onto such services :P

I'll be at home in Surrey Quays.

However I'll be visiting parents, grandparents and friends in Lincolnshire between Christmas and New Year. I'll be hiring a car for that, as trains in Lincolnshire generally are too infrequent, and are non-existent in Gainsborough to due engineering works. (and I want to bring loads of luggage back)

I'll be round my nephew's house. He has two young daughters (6 and 4) so me and nearby relatives will be round there.
Still racking my brain as what to get them (got Monday off to finish shopping).

Getting there involves a weird form of transport involving moving my legs back and forth whilst shifting my weight from one to the other. :)

Is no one going anywhere exotic for Christmas ?

I was expecting a few "sun seekers" , so far Florida has been the only candidate :p

Quite a bit of variety so far although I'm also surprised that more people aren't planning getaways!

I'll be at home for Christmas, the first time in 3 years I've not had to work it. Damn 24/7/365 jobs!

What's the longest and shortest journey for Christmas that many of you will make?

I'm on the 09.15 from Puddington, going to Bristol. Ticket was a bargain and hardly anyone on the train despite the media's predicted "Christmas travel chaos." Driving back on the morning of the 26th as I book on at 13.45 on Boxing Day.

Brilliant, I once woke up at Chatalet Les Halles on an RER from Maison Lafitte at about 4 in the morning. Me, the ex and her mate had all been to a Pearl Jam gig at the Zenit Arena and got a bit tipsy. We dosed off on the train and woke up in the centre of Paris.

Whilst all of the stations on that central stretch are rather grim, Chatalet Les Halles is especially so and is well-known for the dodgy characters that frequent it.... should have stayed in Maisons Lafitte, one of Paris' nicer suburbs ;)

Meanwhile, with 24 hours till take off, fingers are being crossed...
