Not that I know of, but there are a lot of localised gen Yahoogroups which operate by e-mail - but assuming that you are only able to do voice and text on your mobile rather than receive e-mails there is always the option of asking a member of such a group to alert you personally if something worth seeing is heading your way.

I have to ask, but what the hell does 'gen' mean? It's going to be so obvious when you say it!!

Let me guess.... your work IT department would throw a hissy if you tried to join a Yahoogroup through the work e-address?

Here's a site with a list of gen groups. Not sure how up to date it is.

Click on 'A list of gen lists' in the blue box.

Thanks

So why don't you just join the relevant Yahoogroups for your area then?!

No-ones mentioned Realtime Trains?

Been using it for ages, it's great. In fact, there is an article about it in the new July issue of the Railway magazine.

And Twitters brilliant as well for live updates from photographers etc for the rail magazines and the like. I also find the sense of hearing good. Class 37 on Manton bank and I am off to the LC:D:D
