Correct. Usually arrives on 8 then shunts out and back in on top of the Bournemouth arrival on 4. Then both go to New St with the Bournemouth set locked out

Keeps a platform free. Although I have had times when the signaller has said don't bother with the shunt. Used to go right down to Longsight but more often than not now it's just into the Engine Siding. A 5 car just fits

It's the 2127 thats the double set. Formed off the 2058 arrival from Exeter and the 2035 arrival from Bournemouth. The Bournemouth arrival shunts out
