Like your comment SpacePhoenix. Actually i'm abit spell bound by it. Perhaps others on this site could come up with a better name for the service. The Gert lush is my entry

Does anyone know how busy this working has been? I'm thinking of picking it up at Castle Cary for the run to the seaside, but it wouldn't be much fun if it's standing room only! It has been a long time since I did this route by HST! Any help much appreciated.

Happily not today! Hoping to do it in a fortnight. Many thanks for the info. I'll give it a go.

Today wouldn't have been a problem at Castle Cary being nearly half way through the festival. Wednesday is the busiest day for arrivals.

From what I've heard it's busy, but there are seats available. A lot will depend on the weather forecast. Obviously the better the weather the busier it is likely to be.

The HST is showing in the new timetable as a named train - "The Weymouth Wizard", with on-board Express Café. It stops at Dorchester West in both directions.

It has gained the internal codename 'The Wizard's Sleeve'... Anyway, enough about that!

Wizard worked by 150921 yesterday due shortage of FGW HSS drivers. Also, save looking thread up , 11 27 Par to Exeter (Class 57) started from Plymouth due driver shortage.. 150002 took up working from Plymouth.

I'm pretty sure I saw a three car 158 departing Trowbridge for the 09:48 "express" Weymouth Wizard service last Saturday (unless I was imagining it), as I was on the other platform at the time.

EDIT: Unless the return journey was a different unit to the morning one?
